This policy explains how Eugene David Grey trading as EDG Studios (EDG Studios, we, us or our) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information. It also explains how you may access or correct your information and raise a privacy concern.

Section 01

Who we are and how this policy applies

EDG Studios is an Australian sole trader business based in Sydney, New South Wales. Whether or not the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to a particular activity, we aim to handle personal information consistently with transparent, proportionate and security-conscious privacy practices. This policy applies to edgstudios.com, project enquiries and ordinary client and supplier administration.

Section 02

Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • identity and contact information, including your name, email address, telephone number, company, brand or professional role;
  • enquiry and project information, including requested services, budget, timing, location, creative brief, intended usage, licensing requirements and correspondence;
  • commercial and administrative information, including proposals, contracts, invoices, payment status and project delivery records;
  • website and device information, including IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, pages viewed, interactions, referral source, session information and cookie identifiers; and
  • photographs, video, audio or other material supplied for a project, including information about identifiable people appearing in that material.

We do not ordinarily seek sensitive information. Please do not provide it unless reasonably necessary and you are authorised to do so.

Section 03

How we collect and use information

We generally collect information directly from you when you submit a form, email or call us, request a quote, accept a proposal, book a service, provide a brief, supply project materials or interact with our website. We may also receive appropriate business contact information from a client, agency, referral source, public professional profile or service provider.

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, assess and scope projects, prepare proposals, manage bookings and delivery, administer licensing and accounts, maintain security, improve our services and website, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect legitimate business interests. We may also send relevant direct marketing where permitted by law. You may opt out at any time.

Section 04

Website analytics, cookies and security tools

The website uses Webflow hosting and forms, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Cloudflare Turnstile. These services may process device, browser, IP address, approximate location, page-view, interaction, session, cookie and security information. Clarity may produce heatmaps and session replays of website interactions. Turnstile helps distinguish genuine users from automated abuse.

Optional analytics are disabled unless you allow them through the website privacy choices. Essential storage and security technology may still operate where required for the website, forms, fraud prevention or your requested service. You can also limit cookies using your browser settings, although parts of the website may work differently.

Section 05

Disclosure and overseas processing

We may disclose relevant information to technology, hosting, analytics, security, payment, accounting, legal, insurance, production, retouching, delivery and storage providers, and to clients, agencies, venues, suppliers or authorities where required for a project or by law. We do not sell personal information.

Some providers, including Webflow, Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare, may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations where they or their subcontractors operate. Privacy protections in those places may differ from Australian law. We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and information involved.

Section 06

Security, retention and project material

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No online or storage system is completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected, project delivery, licensing records, tax and accounting, backups, disputes or other legal obligations, then delete, anonymise or securely archive it where practicable.

If you provide information about another person, you must be authorised to do so and should make them aware of this policy where appropriate.

Section 07

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or request deletion where it is no longer required, subject to lawful record-keeping, contractual, dispute and backup requirements. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law, explaining the reason where appropriate.

Contact contact@edgstudios.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We aim to acknowledge the matter and respond within 30 days, or tell you if more time is reasonably required. If the Privacy Act applies and you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Section 08

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, systems or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be published on this website.
