EDG Studios documented Jardan Furniture’s dynamic Saturday Indesign 2024 activation at the Sydney showroom in Darlinghurst, capturing Australia’s premier furniture brand during Sydney’s annual design festival on September 7, 2024. The event showcased design, product installations, live upholstery demonstrations, and atmospheric details.

The event featured Jardan’s latest furniture collections alongside live craftsmanship demonstrations, including upholsterers meticulously constructing chairs, showcasing the skill and attention to detail integral to Jardan’s Australian-made furniture. EDG Studios captured the showroom’s spatial atmosphere, curated product displays, cocktail lounge activation, and the sustainability-focused design discussion panel featuring Tim Phillips (Tilt), Nick Garnham (Jardan), and Chris Fox, moderated by Clémence Carayol. Our photography documented both the curated installations demonstrating Jardan’s commitment to responsible design and the organic flow of the design community event.

The activation transformed the Darlinghurst showroom into an after-dark lounge, mixing cocktails while showcasing Jardan’s deep connection to the Australian way of life, its collaborative design and manufacturing approach, and its ongoing commitment to sustainable production. The panel discussion examined how considerations of circularity and reuse are central to the design process from the very start, before a concept is even sketched, rather than being an afterthought.
