I photographed Jardan’s Saturday Indesign 2024 event at its Paddington showroom, following live upholstery demonstrations, the design discussion and guests. Wider views place the furniture and displays within the space, while closer photographs record materials and craftsmanship. Through EDG Studios, I provide showroom and design event photography in Sydney, creating images for websites, editorial features and brand communications.

Craftsmanship and design at Saturday Indesign 2024
On 7 September 2024, Jardan opened its Paddington showroom for Saturday Indesign. EDG Studios photographed the event at 42 Oxford Street, where furniture displays, live upholstery demonstrations and design discussion gave visitors a closer look at the making of Australian furniture.
An upholstery workshop in the showroom window brought Jardan’s Scoresby production process into view. Justin Cass, an upholsterer from its Research and Design team, made an armchair and bench as guests watched. Pattern cutting, sewing covers and weaving leather showed the techniques behind the finished pieces.
The morning panel explored how reuse and sustainability can shape design from the outset. Moderated by Clémence Carayol, the discussion brought together Jardan director Nick Garnham, Tim Phillips of Tilt Industrial Design and artist Chris Fox. It connected the practical work in the showroom with broader questions about material choices and responsible design.
The programme also introduced the Romy side table and Jardan’s new lighting range, with an A.P Bakery pop-up and After Dark lounge adding to the experience.
